Granville
Bikeway
“Thanks for sharing this fantastic video!”
– City Of Vancouver.
The Challenge
Our Community Bikes needed to showcase Vancouver's new Granville Bridge bikeway ahead of its grand opening—with only two weeks to deliver. The project required a clear, impactful video that would educate cyclists and generate excitement within a tight timeframe.
The Strategy
In collaboration with Our Community Bikes' Executive Director, we developed a straightforward explainer video demonstrating the various access points to the new bikeway. The video was designed for distribution across OCB's social media channels, with a focus on their primary platform: Instagram.
The Creative Execution
[Concept/Approach] [An educational guide showing cyclists how to safely enter and exit the new bikeway infrastructure.]
[Production Details]
Visual Approach: Clean, public sector aesthetic appropriate for municipal infrastructure. Professional and accessible.
Storytelling: Simple narrative structure using on-location voiceover to guide viewers through each access point, paired with clear shots of cyclists using the bikeway
The Impact
The video generated significant engagement on Our Community Bikes' Instagram account, becoming a hub for community discussion. It was shared by multiple community organizations and caught the attention of the City of Vancouver, who commented: "Thanks for sharing this fantastic video!" The City leveraged the video's active comment section to officially announce the bikeway's grand opening.
